Good Housekeeping's Kitchen Appliances Lab ran the test that matters most for an egg cooker. It cooked a single egg, then a full load, then cut every egg in half to check the yolk. The Cuisinart Egg Central was the most consistent of the eight models, with no overcooked eggs at one egg or at ten. Food & Wine got the same result across nine cookers in its August 2026 update: fully hard-boiled eggs that were never overdone and peeled easily, whether the racks were full or held just a few.

That consistency at any load is why it wins. America's Test Kitchen found most egg cookers stumble on small batches because the water lines on their measuring cups are rough guides, and it still named the Cuisinart the winner of its six-model test. It holds 7 eggs on the lower rack and 3 more on a second rack, poaches 4 at once and has a small omelet tray. ATK also liked the loud, clear alert that tells you the eggs are done.
Good Housekeeping, Food & Wine, The Spruce Eats and America's Test Kitchen each ranked it first. No other cooker in our research topped more than one list. The dome lid is brushed stainless steel, the racks and trays are all dishwasher safe, and Cuisinart covers it for 3 years where Dash offers 1 unless you register.
What It Won't Do
Two careful testers got bad eggs from it. Serious Eats followed the measuring cup for soft-boiled eggs and got whites so undercooked they collapsed into a pile of egg and shell. Your Best Digs had the opposite problem, with a hot plate that ran hot and left pale, mealy yolks and rubbery whites, and it scored the boiled eggs 3 out of 5. America's Test Kitchen says the cup only marks rough ranges, so expect a few batches of tweaking before you trust it. Storage is awkward too. TechGearLab found the racks and trays don't nest inside, and poached eggs stuck in the deep poaching tray.
TechGearLab bought 10 egg cookers and named the Dash Rapid the best overall. In every trial it made perfectly boiled eggs that peeled without much trouble. Food & Wine named it the best value in its 2026 update, and simply following the marks on the measuring cup gave its tester poached eggs with runny centers and set whites. Good Housekeeping's hard-boiled eggs came out right at both the smallest and largest load.

Your Best Digs made it the runner-up after it cooked perfect hard-boiled eggs in 11 minutes, and its tester found nothing to fault in how it operates. It plays a short tune when the eggs are done. TechGearLab gave it the best storage score among the plug-in models because every accessory fits inside.
At $19.99 list, you save $30 against the Cuisinart. The current DEC007 version also holds 7 eggs, one more than the 6-egg model most of these testers used.
What It Won't Do
Seven eggs is the ceiling, and it poaches only two, so a family's weekly batch means running it twice. Poaching is also where it slips. Good Housekeeping found the whites slightly undercooked, The Spruce Eats saw uneven texture when poaching several eggs, and Your Best Digs watched some white bubble out onto the heating plate. America's Test Kitchen didn't recommend the older 6-egg model in 2019 because its cup has one water line per doneness no matter how many eggs are inside, which left soft and medium eggs over or under. Food & Wine adds that the omelet tray has no side handles and is hard to lift out hot.
